Good morning students and parents.  We are gearing up for a short but busy week starting Monday, February 22nd.

For starters we hope all students take part in Tuesday afternoon's "buy-in" in support of Hockey for Hope.  The game takes place during the final class of the day at the Grightmire Arena in Dundas on Market Street, a nice brisk 20 minute walk for students.

Also, I will be absent on Wednesday as I am involved with the annual Hamilton Indoor Games track and field competition at the First Ontario Centre (formerly Copps Coliseum).  And then Friday, there are no classes as there is a system-wide Professional Development Day for both the elementary and secondary panels.

Grade nine academic French students have already had their first quiz of the year on irregular adjectives.  We will be gearing up for our first culminating activity, as we apply the language conventions learned in an oral presentation of a classmate.

Grade nine applied French students are also busily working away at new language conventions and will have a similar oral presentation to complete in the coming weeks.

Genocide students will receive their first major written assignment this week as they explore their own family histories for genocide or crimes against humanity.
