Teachers are busy putting together preliminary reports regarding student progress to date. Although assessment opportunities have been limited, being so early in the semester, prelims. are a good barometer of student habits, attitude, and progress.
Reports have three possible scores: Progressing with Difficulty, Progressing Well or Progressing Very Well. There is neither a mark nor a letter grade.
Although many students will come home with a Progressing Very Well, the "highest" rating, my subjective standards are somewhat higher. Most students will have a Progressing Well designation, which is just fine. Progressing Very Well is a designation I reserve for those that go above and beyond the call of duty.
So, if your daughter/son comes home with three PVW and only a PW in French, you need not be concerned. Again, these reports will go home next week.
