Interim progress reports are nigh!

Good morning!

This week, Highland teachers are being asked to prepare interim reports regarding student progress.  Students will be assessed as either "Progressing with difficulty", "Progressing well", or "Progressing very well".

A good portion of this report is contingent upon the extent to which students have submitted work for assessment.  Failure to have submitted work, owing either to absence or simple incompletion, will likely result in a "Progressing with difficulty" report.

Please have students check with me to see if there are missing assessments.  Anything can be handed in late or otherwise "made up" without penalty.  The axim "better late than never" applies.

Also, I am hearing reports of student inability to record oral assignments at home owing to lack of recording equipment.  Although computer labs are always available at school, either in the library or in our weekly visits, it would be a good idea to invest no more than 20-30 dollars in an economic headset with a microphone.  Almost all laptops are now equipped with an external microphone and any desktop will have a microphone input.  This will allow students to complete Xpresslab assignments at home if they so choose.

That is all for now!
