Sorry parents! It seems as though I haven't checked in for a while. I should also clarify that for four days last week I was in London, ON at a conference regarding the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and the Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF) which is becoming a new direction in assessment and evaluation in FSL (French as a second language).
The good news is that pretty much all students are progressing satisfactorily at this point. If you have any specific concerns, perhaps we can address those at the parent-teacher interviews, scheduled for this Wednesday, October 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. I have just filled the last ten-minute appointment, so if you want to meet we may have to make some alternate arrangements.

We're going to have some fun this week, as students will be making an oral presentation on a musician/musical group they like. Alternatively, some students have expressed a preference to do something more of a sports persuasion, and that's fine too. Just so long as it is in French. Work will begin Tuesday and we hope to be hearing some of them by Thursday or Friday of this week.

Students are just completing a dialogue assignment for the Cris et frissons unit. They are very entertaining. This class also has the good fortune to have a guest teacher for the next couple of weeks, Mademoiselle Monzavi, who is a pre-service candidate at Brock University. She is bringing a great deal of energy, enthusiasm and originality to the class and we are lucky to have her.

Students were assigned a paragraph assignment last week, an autobiographical sketch of themselves at the age of 10. The original due date for that assignment was Wednesday, October 24th, however, I believe that will be extended, for no other reason that we may be migrating away from the First Class platform for class conferencing and assignment submission.
I look forward to meeting many of you this Wednesday.
